Council Looks to Boost Local Tourism BrochureLast modified: October 29, 2009 - 10:01 AM
Increased demand for information on Temora Shire will see a substantial boost to production numbers of a new brochure, designed to suit escalating interest from visitors and potential residents to the district. The design of the new information brochure was presented to Temora Shire Council for approval at its October meeting by Temora Visitor Information Centre Manager. 40,000 copies of the new brochure would be produced. The previous brochure produced by Council was limited to 25,000 copies, which had run out in less tan two years, adding that it was hoped the increased number of brochures would last up to three years. Highlighting some points of interest, the annual events calendar in the brochure was a difficult component to compile, as events to be included needed to run for another three years, and could not just be one off occassions. The population for the shire recorded in the brochure was 6,101 people noting this was the population recorded at the last census. Temora's elevation was a new addition to local information provided in the brochure. A number of further changes were also suggested by councillors, in raising the profile of several local sites including Temora Recreation Centre and Lake Centenary. it was agreed to adopt the design of the brochure in principle, with councillors to review the text of the brochure in the following days before reporting back to the Temora Visitor Information Centre Manager with any suggested changes.
